Art of Writing is again partnering with the Los Angeles Review of Books (LARB) to offer an internship to UC Berkeley juniors and seniors with interest and experience in writing, publishing, and education. This time, the internship will be with LARB’s educational programs and will span Spring and Summer 2025 semesters.
This intern will help to produce the LARB Publishing Workshop, a program with a mission to assist people from diverse backgrounds start publishing careers. As a two-semester internship, the intern will help LARB staff plan the program in the spring. In the summer, the intern will help assist during the intensive workshop from June 23 to July 25. The intern will work closely with Fellows and guest speakers from across the publishing industry. The Literary Education Intern should have an interest in education and/or non-profit art administration and be excited about publishing and literary arts. Interns should be comfortable with remote work.
The intern will work closely with LARB’s core staff, for 10 hours per week (and for more hours during the summer intensive workshop), between January 13, 2025 and August 29, 2025. This remote Spring and Summer 2025 internship comes with a $3,000 stipend provided by Art of Writing.
Internship duties may include research about potential speakers in the publishing industry, creating social media copy and graphics to promote the workshop, research into publishing jobs for the alumni newsletter, and assisting in moderating talks during the workshop.
