Prickly Paradigm Press Internship Summer 2026

Art of Writing provides UC Berkeley undergraduates with paid literary internship opportunities (writing, editing, social media, etc.) with partner organizations.

Prickly Paradigm Press is hosting an Art of Writing intern for Summer 2026.. This remote internship comes with a $2,000 stipend provided by Art of Writing.

The hired intern must keep a monthly informal written log of activities and reflections, shared with Art of Writing, in order to receive their stipend. Art of Writing may also conduct an informal Zoom debrief of the experience at the end of the internship.

Mission of Organization: 

Prickly Paradigm Press, a mission-driven imprint dedicated to providing historical perspectives about contemporary public debates in pamphlet form, is relaunching in 2026 with new titles, a new website (forthcoming in April), and a digital platform, Dispatches, which will produce regular newsletters about our backlisted titles and forthcoming ones.

Job Responsibilities:

Prickly Paradigm Press is looking for a highly motivated intern in Summer 2026 to help populate the website and to produce regular content for the newsletter and social media feeds.  The Intern will work with the Senior Editor and Publisher: they will be assigned specific tasks, including producing 500 word essays about books on our backlist, collecting and summarizing past reviews and current related content from similar digital platforms and aggregators (The Dial, N+1, Ideas, The Syllabus, LARB, etc), and producing new social media content.

Job Requirements:

  • Interest in books, publishing, and new media
  • Knowledge of current events, including global and domestic politics, culture, media
  • Flexibility, creativity, and self-sufficiency desirable
  • Strong writing skills, including experience writing summaries and digests
  • Public relations experience, including managing social media and websites, a plus
  • Must be a currently enrolled UC Berkeley undergraduate (graduation date must be after August 2026)

Work Schedule: 

8-10 hours a week, entirely remote. Schedule is flexible, dependent on coursework and other obligations, but candidate must work regularly over the course of the week with interim deadlines.
