This symposium, presented by the students of History of Art 192G, focuses on the built environment of Berkeley’s Northbrae and San Pablo Park neighborhoods as collaborative long-term design projects, the result of generations of inventiveness and repurposing inspired by a sense of community and consensus as much as by divisive raw economic and social forces.
